Everything You Need to Know About the 2025 HYROX World Championships
The HYROX World Championships begin this week in Chicago, Illinois, where 4,500 athletes will conclude the 2024/25 season over four days.
The pinnacle event of the fitness race will take place at Navy Pier in Chicago, running from Thursday, June 12, to Sunday, June 15.
Elite 15 individual men and women will compete on Thursday. The event is anticipated to attract over 10,000 fans and athletes.
HYROX has taken over North America in the last couple of years and is on its way to becoming a household name. The fitness race born in Europe is approachable, and the barrier to entry is minimal, thanks to the simplified and uniform racing format.
A HYROX race consists of eight 1-kilometer runs, with eight stations interspersed throughout each run. The stations feature similar movements to those in CrossFit, such as sled pulls, kettlebell farmers' carries, and wall balls, as well as meters on rowers and SkiErgs.
Athletes can compete individually, in pairs, or as part of a relay team with multiple participants. Aside from the professional athletes in the Elite 15 division, competitors can choose to enter the open division or the pro division. The pro division utilizes heavier weights and longer distances for some of the event stations.
Key takeaways:
The HYROX World Championships for the 2024/25 season will be held from June 12 to June 15 in Chicago, IL.
Athletes in age group divisions from any of the HYROX global races who have top placings can qualify.
The Individual Elite 15 and Pro Doubles Elite 15 will compete against each other for the top spots.

Hay Bales and Heavy Lifts – Gui Malheiros and Arielle Loewen Are “Rancher Strong”
While some eyes were focused on the Northern California Classic last weekend, another competition was going down in Texas at the Cowtown Coliseum in the Fort Worth Stockyards.
The first-ever Red Bull Rancher Strong event, hosted by Red Bull athlete Noah Ohlsen, combined strength tests and obstacles.
Known for engineering extreme and unique events, Red Bull upheld its reputation by showcasing big names tackling new challenges.
Gui Malheiros and Arielle Loewen were among the athletes who donned their boots and hats for the weekend and faced the course.
They were joined by American Ninja Warrior competitors, Division I athletes, rodeo champions, and real-life ranchers — athletes from a wide range of fitness backgrounds representing various countries and sports.
