2025 CrossFit Games Weekend Recap

In a streamlined and pared-down edition of the CrossFit Games, fans were treated to neck-and-neck races all weekend long as tight leaderboards in all three divisions pushed athletes to go for broke every time on the floor.
Stay tuned this week as the Morning Chalk Up breaks down all the action from Albany, NY, this weekend. We will continue to cover all the major events from the 2025 CrossFit Games, both on and off the competition floor.
Reactions from Sunday:
Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, in her post-Games win interview, on what she’s learned this weekend:
“One thing I’ve learned is I still love competing, and I don’t think that will ever disappear, and it’s frickin’ hard to retire!”
Jayson Hopper, on winning his first-ever CrossFit Games, and his mindset going into the final event:
“The first couple of years, I wasn’t perfect with mistakes. I kept riding the previous events. This was a perfect opportunity to put whatever happened on Event 9 to the side. Full send. Whatever happens happens.”
One big number:
8 — The total number of individual CrossFit Games titles Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr has now earned. That’s four times as many as any previous Fittest Woman, double Rich Froning’s total of four, and three more than Mat Fraser’s five.

Jayson Hopper Crowned Fittest Man on Earth at 2025 CrossFit Games
After three days of what can only be described as a game of leaderboard ping pong, Jayson Hopper is the 2025 CrossFit Games Fittest Man on Earth.
Hopper fought his way to the top of the leaderboard for three straight days as the battle for the podium started the moment athletes stepped onto the competition floor.
Remind me: Going into the final day of competition, Jayson Hopper was in first place, 10 points ahead of Ricky Garard. Followed by James Sprague, who was in third with just a 13-point deficit. Just 87 points separated fourth and 10th place, setting up a major fight on Sunday for the top three spots.
Hopper has competed at the Games five times, with his best finish coming in 2024 when he took fourth place.
The former collegiate football player transitioned to CrossFit, winning the 2021 Mid-Atlantic CrossFit Challenge.
Continue reading for a recap of Hopper’s fight this weekend, with razor-thin margins of error in every event.
