What CrossFit's 2025 Vendor Deck Tells Us About the Games in Albany

The 2025 CrossFit Games are just over 100 days away and will be held for the first time on the East Coast in Albany, NY. Each summer since 2007, CrossFitters from around the world gather to watch and cheer as athletes and teams compete for the title of Fittest on Earth.

To promote the event to potential vendors, a slide deck was created to offer insight into CrossFit’s plans for fans at the Games, how CrossFit compares as a brand to other in-person sporting events, and pricing details.

Key Takeaways

  • The 2025 CrossFit vendor deck previews what fans can expect this summer in Albany, NY.

  • CrossFit will host an “Owners and Coaches Conference” on July 30–31, prior to the Games.

  • The “CrossFit Experience” returns with a 25,000-square-foot Vendor Village. CrossFit’s vendor deck notes that it will be “much more selective” about which vendor applications are approved due to size considerations.

  • New this year, CrossFit will close Pearl Street for a free block party featuring major brand activations.

On CrossFit’s Future

In 2012, the CrossFit Journal posted a video of Greg Glassman discussing his affiliate system and various economic strategies, where he expresses his commitment to “leaving money on the table”:

  • “Let me tell you what is left on the table. It’s the seed capital for the affiliates to grow their businesses. […] It’s a college savings plan for the affiliates and their trainers, for their kids,” he said.

Glassman continued: “We control a very, very small percent of the CrossFit financial ecosystem, and that’s by design. […] If we start to […]  see our affiliates as economic opportunity for rent extraction, we have to alter our relationship with them. And we abandoned this covenant, this charter that is sacred to all of us, and we kill the very thing that is making this revolution possible.”

This, he asserted, was in direct contrast to venture capitalists and private equity, who told him he was leaving too much money on the table by limiting his and CFHQ’s piece of the pie.

CrossFit Choice Raises £38,000 (and Counting) to Honor Coach McCoy Turner and Support Men’s Mental Health

On March 24, CrossFit Level 4 coach and British Navy veteran McCoy “Topsy” Turner died after what has been described as “a long and silent battle” with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

  • Turner, a former Physical Training Instructor (PTI) with the Royal Navy, dedicated his life to serving others both in the military and as a CrossFit coach and Seminar Staff member. He helped deliver 256 Level 1 and Level 2 courses throughout Europe and Asia.

Following Turner’s death, his gym, CrossFit Choice in Portsmouth, UK, immediately organized a global memorial workout to raise £42,000 (approximately $54,000 USD)—one thousand dollars for each year of Turner’s life.

  • This initiative aimed to support Turner’s two teenage sons, Brodie and Tommy, as they move “through the next chapter” of their lives, explained Gemma Clifton, a gym member.

Other gyms around the world, from Bali to Portugal, France, Australia, and the United States, also took part in the workout: a 25-minute AMRAP consisting of 42 lunges, 38 burpees, 38 ground-to-overheads, and a 400-meter run completed in pairs or teams of three.
