Inside 3407, the Coaching App Built by Sara SigmundsdĂłttir
Sara Sigmundsdóttir made her name on the CrossFit Games floor. Now she’s building a business and launching a coaching app called 3407.
The Icelandic CrossFit Games veteran has been in the sport for years and is using that experience to develop programming for the broader CrossFit community. SigmundsdĂłttir first appeared at the Games in 2015, finishing third. She went on to compete in five more consecutive years.
She is now focused on building 3407 from the ground up and overseeing the operation every step of the way. She first created the 3407 community in February and launched the mobile app on Monday, October 12. The name comes from a calculator trick that spells "love," combined with her personal favorite numbers.
“I’ve learned so much throughout my career that I’m trying to share as much of my experience with people, and I think this app is the start of that,” Sigmundsdóttir told Morning Chalk Up in an interview.
Step In. Recover.
You’ve done the work. The long run, the heavy lifts, the WOD that left you flat on the floor. Now meet the slide that keeps working after you do.
The Nike Air Zoom Hyperslide pairs Nike’s low-profile Air Zoom cushioning with Hyperice heat and vibration. Pop in the magnetic pod and it delivers targeted warmth and massage across the top of your foot. Three heat levels and three vibration settings let you dial it in from the pod or the Hyperice App.
Wear them after training, on the flight home, or while you stand around at the gym pretending you’re not stretching.
They’re TSA-friendly, FSA/HSA eligible, and the pods snap off magnetically for charging.

The “Damaging” Food Mindset Haley Adams Had to Leave Behind. And How CBG Helped
In 2018, Haley Adams became the fittest teenager on the planet by winning the CrossFit Games.
By age 21, Adams was a four-time top-10 finisher at the CrossFit Games and one of the sport's biggest names.
Then came an announcement that resonated across the entire community: Adams was taking a year off to heal.
“I’ve battled with an eating disorder and have struggled with my mental health ever since. I’ve suffered in silence, and because of the pressure to make everything seem “okay”, I kept a smile on my face. It’s been a hard few years, when every single day is a battle,” Adams wrote in an Instagram post.
She continued: “I will be using this time to work on myself, as much mentally as physically, so that I’m no longer holding myself back. This isn’t just a new chapter; it’s a new book. The 2024 comeback is going to be big.”
Behind the scenes: Adams had tracked her macros since she started CrossFit at 14, which led to an obsession that “completely ruined my relationship with food,” Adams told The Morning Chalk Up.
More often than not, she wasn’t eating enough; other times she binge-ate. She usually saved most of her calories for the evening because she enjoyed eating then and wanted to make sure she had macros left to consume each day.
Despite her brilliance on the competition floor, Adams admits her game-day fueling wasn’t on point either.
“I wouldn’t eat anything after a workout; there were no pre-workout carbs,” Adams, now 25, admitted.

CrossFit Risk Retention Group Becomes Official Insurance Provider for U.S. Affiliates
Last week, CrossFit announced a new partnership with CrossFit Risk Retention Group (CrossFit RRG), naming it the Official Gym Insurance Provider for U.S. CrossFit Affiliates through 2031.
“Beyond insurance coverage, the partnership will deliver ongoing risk-management education, guidance, and educational tools through the CrossFit Affiliate Toolkit and other official community channels and events,” the press release explained.
Remind Me: Built around the CrossFit methodology and the operational realities of running a gym, CrossFit RRG was founded by CrossFit in 2009 to provide custom insurance solutions, legal defense, and risk-management resources for CrossFit gyms and trainers across the United States.
Unlike most commercial insurers, CrossFit RRG is a policyholder-owned liability insurance group, meaning each insured affiliate is also a shareholder in the company.
According to last week’s press release, “roughly half” of U.S. CrossFit affiliates are insured through CrossFit RRG, the largest insurer of CrossFit gyms.
