2024 Rogue Invitational — Day 3 Schedule, How to Watch, Leaderboard and Event Descriptions

The 2024 Rogue Invitational continued yesterday, with the top men and women in the sport throwing down across three more events at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland. Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr continued her dominant performance, but Laura Horvath won the day on the back of two firsts and a second-place event finish. She trails the G.O.A.T by 55 points heading into the final events.

Jeffrey Adler ends the day on top on the men's side, but three men—Ricky Garard, Dallin Pepper, and Brent Fikowski—sit within 80 points.

  • Injury note: In Event 6: “The Duel IV,” Gabi Migala and Henrik Haapalainen appeared to suffer calf or ankle injuries. On both the free and premium video feeds, it was speculated that the injuries could be Achilles tendon-related. See video clips and an explanation from Known & Knowable here. (Haapalainen later “unofficially” confirmed an Achilles rupture via Instagram story.)

There is still a lot of action left on the final day, with at least 300 more points still available.

How to Watch

The CrossFit, Strongman, and Strongwoman events will be streamed live on YouTube for free. There is also an Iron Game Premium option, which includes exclusive live feeds, chats, multiview, Q&A, VR control room, and more.

Rogue Invitational Day 2 Recap: Adler and Toomey-Orr Remain Atop the Leaderboard on “Moving Day” at the 2024 Rogue Invitational

Day 2 was packed full of action at P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland.

  • Saturday is traditionally known as “moving day” due to the jostling that takes place on the leaderboard and that was certainly the case for many athletes at the Rogue Invitational.

On the women’s side, it looked like Toomey-Orr could run the table for the whole competition with another event win to start the day, building on her clean sweep on Day 1.

  • With that win, she tied Laura Horvath for the Rogue record with four event wins in a row.

Gabi Migała entered the day just 25 points behind in second and 65 points ahead of third. But Horvath battled back, cutting into the lead with two event wins of her own to stop the G.O.A.T.’s streak and to close out the day in second, 55 points back.

  • Migała currently rounds out the top three with the two past champions, 105 points ahead of fourth place. She has looked strong and poised all weekend. Unfortunately, however, she suffered an injury in Event 6: “The Duel IV” and had to withdraw from the competition.

Emma Tall was by far the biggest mover of the day, jumping from 15th place to fourth, with her finishes of seventh, fourth, and second.

For the men, the top three remained unchanged, but in second place, Ricky Garard cut 10 points off of Jeff Adler’s lead, which is now at 40.

  • Garard increased his lead over third-place Dallin Pepper, from five to 30 points.

Here’s how it all played out.

Experience and Consistency Shine, but Injuries Take Center Stage on Day 2 at the Rogue Invitational

After finishing off Day 1 with heavy back squats, the athletes returned to P&J Live in Aberdeen, Scotland, ready to attack some movements unique to Rogue.

  • With the log bar muscle-ups and Strongman implements, like the Cyr Bell, on the menu, it was moving day in Aberdeen.

Big Takeaways: Been There, Done That

We saw the importance of experience on Saturday, with Rogue veterans taking advantage of their wisdom to attack workouts most efficiently.

  • This was illustrated in Event 4: “Hunting Haggis,” where the athletes took on log bar muscle-ups.

Athletes who have used the implement before excelled – we saw Justin Medieros, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr, and others do singles on the log out of the gate, and add the maximum height rise pads, therefore minimizing their transition time in between reps by reducing the distance to jump into the log.

  • It was a veteran move.
