QUOTE OF THE DAY

“We have always made a big deal about doing Hero WODs, typically trying to do at least one a month. We put a lot of emphasis on the importance behind them,” - Jill Hughes, co-owner of Saddle Up CrossFit — read about her gym and the Hero WOD “Gage” here

The Definitive Guide to Qualifying for the 2025 CrossFit Games

The path to the CrossFit Games is as constantly varied year over year as the workouts at your affiliate.

  • From the early days when athletes just had to get to Aromas, CA, and put their names on a clipboard to the “D’Hondt Method,” we have seen many variations over the last 17 seasons. And that continues to be true for 2025.

On November 22, 2024, CrossFit announced the new season structure, where we learned how Individual, Team, and Divisional athletes will qualify for their respective final championship events. (This also includes Community athletes and the Community Cup, which is new for 2025.)

  • For the Divisional athletes, the structure is generally the same as previous seasons: It will all be online before an in-person championship hosted by Legends, PIT, and WheelWOD (minus online Quarterfinals for all divisions; RIP to the 25 percenters).

For Teams and Individuals, the season structure has been changed. Teams will compete completely online to qualify for the CrossFit Games, and now, only a single team from each CrossFit affiliate can compete.

Two Paths to the Games

1. Online Semifinals Pathway

  • The top 1% in the CrossFit Open qualify for In-Affiliate Semifinal (Online).

  • Top men and women – currently, it appears that 12 each will qualify for the 2025 Games.

That’s it; it’s that easy 😉

  • Just be in the top 1% at the end of the three-week CrossFit Open and then be in the top 12 (currently, see details below) of the In-Affiliate Semifinal, and you are headed to the 2025 CrossFit Games.

However, in addition to the online In-Affiliate Semifinal, from April through June, 10 competitions (announced so far) will make up an in-person pathway. The events are known as “In-Person Qualifying Events” (IPQE).

4 “Back-to-Basics” Tips for a Healthier You in 2025

It’s that time of year again. You’re going to see every health and wellness company trying to sell you what they have to offer to “make you the healthiest YOU!”

Don’t fall for the gimmicks and flashy approaches that appear quick and easy.

This article is to help you prioritize the basics.

  • The basics may look boring, but they can usually give you the most carryover, so even when life throws all the obstacles at you, you can still move the needle towards your goals.

Instead of trying to reinvent yourself this month, consider prioritizing these four things.

Sleep

It plays a huge role in growth and development as we age – everything from improving our ability to learn and memorize, to calibrating our emotions and regulating appetite.

The Details

The first two events will take place in the United States, while the World Fitness Finals will go down across the pond in Europe.

  • This season, 20 men and 20 women will hold pro cards and compete against challengers hoping to earn a card by competing in various events on a season-long leaderboard.

Signed athletes will compete in two in-person events and the in-person World Fitness Finals (WFF) to hold their spot for 2026, while the challengers will compete to earn one of the available pro cards for 2026.
