🏋️♂️ R.A.D x Rogue Drop a Global Lifting Challenge — Are You In?
Good morning and welcome to the Morning Chalk Up.
In today’s edition:
🏋️♂️ R.A.D and Rogue kick off the Tin Slingers Challenge, turning local affiliates into worldwide lifting throwdowns.
⚠️ Eating less isn’t always healthier — under-fueling can tank your metabolism, drain your energy, and sabotage long-term progress.
❤️🔥 In 2013, Tammi Saunders, a newly divorced chain-smoker, walked into a CrossFit class and began a 12-year journey that rebuilt her entire life.
QUOTE OF THE DAY
In ‘the uncomfortable’ is where change happens and growth happens…where all the good shit happens in life.”

It’s Lifting Season: R.A.D and Rogue Fitness Collab for Tin Slingers Challenge
Last weekend, R.A.D athletes (along with other elites, local gym members, and the brand’s superfans) gathered in three gyms across different parts of the world to kick off the Tin Slingers Challenge.
The event coincided with the launch of two new colorways, as R.A.D strives to meet the demand from its loyal athlete community.
Worth noting: R.A.D also launched its new DBE Underwear collection, featuring Danielle Brandon. The line officially drops on November 20.
ICYMI: Justin Medeiros, Josh Bridges, Danielle Brandon, Trista Smith, Aimee Cringle, Lucy Campbell, Jay Crouch, Noah Ohlsen, Jake Douglas, and many others threw around some heavy weights last weekend, competing for some big checks and bragging rights. In typical R.A.D style, the events were held at local affiliates, packed with spectators and participants – the vibes electric, intimate, semi-chaotic, but all in the best possible way.

When Eating Less Backfires: Rethinking What ‘Healthy’ Really Means
For decades, we’ve been told that eating less is the key to better health. Cut calories, skip meals, shrink your portions—that’s how you get results, right? But while there’s truth in the idea that energy balance matters, eating less isn’t always the best way to improve health.
The principle of calories in versus calories out (CICO) is scientifically sound; it explains weight change at the most basic level. But your body isn’t a simple calculator. It’s a dynamic, adaptive system influenced by hormones, metabolism, stress, sleep, and the quality of the food you eat.
That means while calorie balance is important, there’s often more involved in achieving proper health than just eating less.
Let’s explore why under-eating can have negative effects and how properly fueling your body can promote long-term health.

From Chain-Smoker to Affiliate Owner: How Tammi Saunders Turned Her Life Around
The year was 2013, and Tammi Saunders was far from healthy.
She was smoking nearly two packs of cigarettes a day and felt like she was “living the same day over and over again.”
“I didn’t have any direction, I didn’t have any goals, and I was newly divorced,” Saunders, now 57, told the Morning Chalk Up.
Her brother had found CrossFit the year before and tried to get her to join, but she was resistant. “I was like, ‘Look, I have cigarettes to smoke and junk food to eat,’” Saunders said, laughing.
But then one day, her daughter decided she wanted to try a CrossFit class, so she agreed to go too. Saunders felt uneasy and out of her depth, but she noticed something in the people at the gym that she wanted.
“They had a quality of life. They had health,” she said.
Watching them, Saunders realized how important it was to be part of a community, and to “be doing hard things with other people.” In the past, she often gave up on herself, and she didn’t want to do that anymore.
