2025 CrossFit Games Day 3 Lay of the Land

It all comes down to this, the final day of the 2025 CrossFit Games.

Day 2 was action-packed as the volatile leaderboards shifted after every event, and multiple athletes donned the coveted white leader’s jersey.

  • Heading into Sunday, only 41 points separate the top seven athletes on the men’s leaderboard; meanwhile, on the women’s side, Tia-Clair Toomey-Orr has a comfortable lead, but Lucy Campbell has already shown she can challenge the G.O.A.T.

  • In the team division, perennial powerhouses CrossFit Oslo Kriger and CrossFit Mayhem are separated by only five points in first and second, with CrossFit Butcher’s Lab Vanløse just 10 points behind.

What they’re saying:

Colten Mertens in his post-event win interview, following “IE05: 1RM Back Squat”:

  • “I think I underestimated the bump I would get from the crowd. 570 felt the same as 400 did in the back, so I’m not sure how much more I had in the tank, but it felt way better on the floor.”

Arielle Loewen, after earning her second career event win at the CrossFit Games in “IE06: Throttle Up”:

  • “I think a burpee box jump over is the truest test of fitness, and I am really proud that I have good fitness.”

One big number:

570 — The number, in pounds, that Colten Mertens back squatted to win IE05. Nick Mathew took second with 555. On the women’s side, Mirjam von Rohr put up a smooth 360 to take the win by five pounds over Anikha Greer and Jennifer Muir.
