  • Should you seek out a nutrition coach to help you achieve your fitness goals? Learn why it might be the right idea for you and how to do it.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

“We’re definitely the work hard, play hard at the same time type of team. I think we all work best like this.” - Kara Saunders on her team Mayhem Thunder, announced earlier this week

10 Moments That Made Us Smile At the 2024 CrossFit Games

The unimaginable happened at the 2024 CrossFit Games. And it still doesn’t seem real.

Whether or not you believe the Games should have been canceled after the tragic loss of Lazar Ðukić (and there are good arguments either way), they were not.

We have the utmost respect for the athletes who chose to withdraw, for those who tried to continue and couldn’t, and for those who competed through Sunday.

  • Every athlete was affected deeply by this tragedy, and they honored Lazar in their own way.

The Games continued.

And there were moments of joy amidst grief, delivered through admirable displays of fitness by phenomenal people on the competition floor.

Let’s have a look at some of the moments that made us smile:

Alexis Raptis Sells Out Early, Still Wins Her 1600-Meter Run Heat

Alexis Raptis passed former track star, Brooke Wells, then rounded the corner and kicked it into fifth gear. She sprinted to the finish line in first place.

There was only one problem.

She had one more lap to go. And the crowd let her know.

The Value of Having a Nutrition Coach

Nutrition and the way you approach it can be very personal.

If you’re new to fitness and have never focused on your nutrition, having a coach to guide you through an introductory period or longer can be profoundly helpful.

  • But even if you’ve been tracking or monitoring your macros and have a well-defined nutrition plan, a coach can help you experiment with some more advanced protocols.

Either way, having someone in your corner, guiding you through it, can be critical.

What Should You Look For in a Nutrition Coach?

You may already understand that having a coach can help you elevate your nutrition game, but there are some things you should seek out about a coach before committing.

The 2024 Teenage CrossFit Games By Pit Teen Throwdown Preview

The Teenage CrossFit Games, to be held over Labor Day weekend in Three Rivers, MI, is serving as a beacon of family and community at a time when many of us need it most.

Hosted by the Pit Fitness Ranch, The Teenage CrossFit Games will welcome 120 athletes this year, ages 14-17 in four different divisions: Girls and Boys 14-15 and Girls and Boys 16-17.

  • By the end of a challenging three-day weekend, four athletes will be crowned the Fittest Teens on Earth.

The details: This year, the Pit Fitness Ranch will host three separate events for young athletes.

Besides the Teenage CrossFit Games, the original Pit Teen Throwdown will also take place, as well as the Pit Collegiate Throwdown.

  • In total, there will be 220 athletes from 29 countries competing throughout the three events.

However, besides teens completing workouts at the Ranch, they will also be competing a short drive away at Wings Event Center, which is home to a 17,000 square foot arena with ample space for the athletes to not only compete but relax and recover.

  • At the Wings Center, athletes will have access to a VIP lounge, vendor and media space, a large field of play, and a livestream.
