POWERED BY

Good morning and welcome to the Morning Chalk Up.

In today’s edition:

  • 🏋️‍♂️ Seven numbers, one epic story — the stats that defined the 2025 Games.

  • 🌱 How online nutrition coaching is evolving (and where it’s headed).

  • 🚀 The mindset shift that turned a near-miss into a podium finish for 19-year-old Olivia Kerstetter.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

She was so proud of me. I even told her, ‘Tia, I think you're happier for me than you are for yourself.’ She laughed and said, ‘I definitely am, I’m old news, you did amazing!’”

The successful 2025 CrossFit Games are now behind us; it’s time to take a closer look at some of the standout numbers.

  • With some digging, these numbers reveal some deeper stories we might otherwise miss.

So, let’s get right into it.

100 – Percent Completion Rate

Every athlete who started the Games completed them. There were no cuts, withdrawals, or DNFs.

  • This represents a historic milestone in the modern era of the Games (2010-present), as it is the only time all competitors in the entire field have completed the course from start to finish.

Reducing the field from 40 to 30 and removing cuts allowed all athletes to finish the entire test, and there were no major injuries – a clear win for CrossFit.

  • Continue reading for six more standout stats from the 2025 Games.

A MESSAGE FROM VELITES

Drop 004 Has Landed – Bubblegum & Caribbean Blue!

The wait is over! On August 14th, the Velites Hybrid 1.0 Training Shoes returned in two bold, summer-ready colors – Bubblegum and Caribbean Blue. Built for athletes who demand both stability for heavy lifts and comfort for running, the Hybrid 1.0 delivers top-tier performance without compromise.

A wide toe box allows natural toe expansion for better balance and power. The midfoot zone adapts to your foot during high-intensity sessions, while the heel lock system keeps every lift rock-solid. Inside, a dual-layer insole blends TPE and viscoelastic foam for unmatched cushioning and pressure distribution.

From rope climbs to sprints, the high-grip outsole and durable monomaterial midsole keep you moving with confidence. TPU reinforcements protect high-wear zones, and the flexible toe with internal cross grooves ensures fluid movement for dynamic workouts.

But here’s the catch – this is a limited drop. Once they’re gone, they’re gone. Don’t miss your chance to grab the colors turning heads at the box and on the street.

Why 2025 Was Olivia Kerstetter’s Breakout Year

Earlier this month, Olivia Kerstetter was crowned the third Fittest Woman in the World at the 2025 CrossFit Games. It still hasn't fully sunk in for the youngster.

  • “It just doesn’t feel real – even now. I just don’t understand how all my finishes added up to third place. I just cannot wrap my head around it,” she told the Morning Chalk Up in an interview.

But the math checks out.

The 19-year-old who failed to qualify for the CrossFit Games last year after her rookie debut in 2023, where she finished 16th, returned to the Games fit and focused, and it paid off.

  • Continue reading for more from our conversation with Kerstetter, including her goals for 2026.
